KIA ORA / GREETINGS TO ALL PARENTS AND FRIENDS OF THE SCHOOL

Today we welcome back our seniors who travelled to Wellington.  It looks like they have enjoyed some amazing experiences.  Next week we will farewell our Rotorua travelers as they depart from school at 9.15am Wednesday.

A big thank you to Aegis Oil who sponsored the tour sweatshirts for our students.

WHEELS DAY

Just a reminder that Fridays are Wheels Days and our students can bring their scooters, skateboards or remote controlled cars to use in their breaks.  All students using scooters or skateboards must have helmets however.

PARENTAL PORTAL.

All caregivers should now have received an email with their user ID and temporary password.  If you have not please contact the office to ensure we have your correct email address.  Great to see so many have already logged in!!

At present you will be able to check your child’s details and billing account.  Under the “Home” tab you will be able to access changing your password, frequently asked questions and the term dates. Under the top tab “My Child “you will be able to access permissions, general records and accounts.

Please let us know if these are in need of updating.

Also note that the school will be sending home invoices this term but will only send home invoices on request or overdue from term 3.

Lost Property

We are amazed at the amount of unclaimed clothing we have in our lost property. Please check our lost property bin outside the hall—you may be surprised at what you find.

KAPA HAKA

Turua School would really love to set up a kapa haka group for those students who are interested.  To do this we require people with some skills, knowledge and enthusiasm who would like to assist us with this option.  If this is you or you know of someone, please contact us at school.  It would be great to offer this opportunity to our students.

HOLIDAY PROGRAMME  17-21st July

EEEK! It has come around quickly.  In order to plan an enjoyable programme could you please register your child as soon as possible to enable me to plan for the relative age groups.

Thank you for your assistance with this.  As soon as I have enough children registered on a day I will confirm what we will be doing. I will need definite numbers by Tuesday 27th June, this will allow parents to find an alternative caregiver if we do not get sufficient numbers. Please let me or Maree know.

GRANDPARENTS DAY.

On Friday 15th June we had an awesome day with all our grandparents. Over 45 Grandparents came to see their grandchildren and the school. On the same day we had the Book Fair so the grandchildren were lucky as their grandparents brought them some books we were also really happy with the kind donations to the school as we raised $216.00 on the day.

BOOK FAIR WEEK

Many thanks to those families who supported our Book Fair this year.  This has resulted in $495.00 worth of new books for our Library.

Thanks to Merren Gillingham and her student helpers for their work in making the Fair a great success.

CHARACTER PARADE

What a weird and wild assortment of characters turned up at school last Friday for our annual character Parade.  We even had a Pirate Captain as Principal, so you had to watch out or you might find yourself walking the plank!

Our winners were

Room 4: Nathan Khudolyey

Room 6: Liam Khudolyey

Room 8: Calum Lee

Room 7: Jaime Hill

And the best dressed teacher was:
