KIA ORA/GREETINGS TO ALL PARENTS AND FRIENDS OF THE SCHOOL
The weather gods are certainly smiling on us with these beautiful winter days for our camps. Yesterday Room 8 travelled to Rotorua and visited Paradise Valley Springs before heading off to the Lakes Ranch Camp site.
There were some very excited students!

Monica and Stazia’s Newsletter Report
On Monday 19th June 2017, the wait was over! Room 7 set off on an amazing experience – Wellington Camp! It is really hard choosing the best activities because there were so many. The highlights were;
- Flip City in Palmerston North. We were able to stretch our legs and exercise our jaws so we didn’t drive everyone crazy in the van!
- An interesting visit to The Great War Exhibition, before we had a trip up to the Botanical Gardens on the Cable Cars.
- Parliament where we got to see Bill English, Scott Simpson and many other Ministers argue and debate like little children. Even one member was sent out by The Speaker!
- McDonalds for an exceptional breakfast.
- Te Papa to explore the Gallolipi Exhibition and all the other interesting exhibitions there.
- Capital E where we became TV stars! You can watch us at https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=thFsd0RmuWE
- The Wellington Zoo, where we had a guided tour with Becca to explore the animals. The adults were worried we might get lost amongst the monkeys!
- Finally a relaxing swim and hydroslide at DeBretts in Taupo.
We had the best week and want to thank our amazing parents; Dave Lees, Tracey Hill, Dale McAuley and Amanda Earl. Also Aegis Oil for our funky and warm jerseys, which brought us a lot of attention and made us feel awesome as a group. All the parents and the community with the support for our car washes. And lastly to our teacher Miss Hayley for organising it all.
PARENTAL PORTAL.
Great to see that so many of our parents have already logged on to the parental portal @school. There is now also a direct link on the home page of our website for easy access.
MID YEAR REPORTS
Teachers have been busy burning the midnight oil writing students’ mid-year reports. These reports will be distributed next Friday and provide an overview of their achievement towards meeting the National Standards and next learning steps. Students’ reports will be discussed in greater detail next term at our parent interviews.
This year the format is slightly different as the report will also be available online. The report still contains the same information as the previous reports however.
