KIA ORA/GREETINGS TO ALL PARENTS AND FRIENDS OF THE SCHOOL

Politics will be everywhere over the next few weeks as we head towards the election on the 23rd September.  Turua School will be used as a polling place for the General Election and will be set up in Room 2 where we hold our assemblies.

SPEECH COMPETITIONS

Our senior school have been working hard to prepare their speeches and the Turua School Finals will be held tomorrow on Friday 8th September.  A reminder that all parents are welcome.

MARAE VISIT

Yesterday we had our whole school visit to the Marae, the children had a thoroughly enjoyable day. Many thanks to the parents/grandparents that came along and helped with supervision and assisted with the activities. We couldn’t do it without you. Many thanks also to Kerepehi School and the Kerepehi Marae.

TOPSOIL

We desperately need a trailer of top soil for our vegetable garden at Turua School as we want to get our garden going again.  If you can help us with this, could you please email katrina.bond@turua.school.nz or leave a message at the office.

ALL THINGS CALF CLUB

The entry forms are now available at the office, the are on the little desk so please help yourself. The box for completed entries is also there.  All entries need to be returned by 11th September. ThanksCow

 IMPORTANT -DON’T FORGET

The 31st August was the cut of date for animals entering calf club to be born by. Also animals entered must be cared for by the child who will be showing it.

TROPHIES

If you have a Calf club Trophy from last years event,can you please give it a good clean and return it to school next week. Thanks.

GROCERIES: These can be dropped into the office anytime from now on for the grocery raffle. (Please check expiry dates on items). Thanks to those families who have dropped in items.

HAURAKI RAIL TRAIL OPENING

The Miranda to Thames section of the Hauraki Rail Trail is having a Grand Opening celebrationBike on Sunday 9th September. Flyers were sent home today with all the children and further details are on the office window.  Looks like a fun day with lots of activities.
