KIA ORA/GREETINGS TO ALL PARENTS AND FRIENDS OF THE SCHOOL
Recently teachers have noted a number of students eating unhealthy options from their lunchbox on arrival to school. Eating much of their food before designated breaks leaves them hungry for the afternoon period. We encourage parents to ensure their child has a filling breakfast and enough food to keep them energised through out the day. We appreciate your support.
START OF THE SCHOOL DAY
The first few minutes of every school day are a very important settling time especially for New Entrants who are taking that next big step in their lives. It is important that children are on time each day before the school bell at 9:00 am so that they have plenty of time to prepare for the school day, meet their friends and settle in peacefully to the learning environment. Children coming in late not only disrupt early morning roll call and notices but also start the day off on a back foot, as they have not had time to relax and prepare themselves.
SCHOOL FUN RUN
We’re holding the School Fun-Run as a major fundraising event this year! The event will be held on the 19th August. This is a sponsorship based fundraiser, and we’re looking to raise $ 2000 towards buying resources for students.
Keep your eyes peeled for the sponsorship forms which will be sent home with your child. Once you have the form, jump online at schoolfundraising.co.nz and create a student profile page. Once you do this and raise at least $1 online, you will be entered into the $20,000 Ultimate Family Experience!
Students who raise $10 or more will receive a reward, and the more money you raise the better the reward, and the more you help the school!
The School Fun-Run is a healthy fundraiser that we hope you’ll get behind. The event sends a message to students about having fun while being healthy, all while helping the school raise funds.
We’re looking for all students to participate and we’re organising a great day for our community, so we’d love everyone to come down to support the kids.
If you have any questions about the Fun-Run please contact the School Fun-Run Office on 0800 377 170.
Thanks for supporting the school and we hope to see you at the event!

PLEASE LET THE OFFICE KNOW
The school needs to be informed by a parent/caregiver if your child is going to have a change to their usual going home or being picked up routine.
It is up to Parents/Caregivers to inform the school of changes via phone call, email or a note for your child to hand in.
We also need to know if someone else is going to collect them. i.e. aunty, cousin, another child’s mum etc, as we may not know these people on sight and without your permission we cannot allow your child to leave the grounds with someone who is not listed on their enrollment as a person who can collect your child.
These steps are in place to safe guard your children.
CALF CLUB NEWS
Entry forms and Calf Club Guides are now available in the office. If you have taken an entry form but didn’t pick up the guide please come and get one from the desk in the office.
Don’t forget we will be doing the DIY farm animals competition again this year, so get the family together and come up with a plan.

Riddle me a Riddle
Last week: What can you hold in your left hand but not in your right?
Answer: Your right elbow.
Congratulations to Chris and Colin Hovell.
This week: I am not alive, but I grow; I don’t have lungs, but I need air; I don’t have a mouth, but water kills me. What am I?
