What a fabulous response we have had already to our Senior Leader Kayak raffle.  A reminder that this will be drawn during the first assembly next term.  If students want to take an extra sheet of tickets for the holidays they can talk to our School Captains tomorrow.

TEACHER ONLY DAY

In the settlement of the latest teacher collective agreement provision was made for schools to support teacher workload with 8 Teacher Only Days throughout the three year agreement.  Please note that the Board has confirmed the first of these days will be  Tuesday 29th October.  This is the day after the Labour Day weekend.

SIR PETER BLAKE AWARD

Sir Peter Blake believed in the incredible potential of young people to achieve great things.

The BLAKE Young Leader Award aims to recognise young New Zealanders (year 5-8) who show commitment to leading positive change in their community that leads to a sustainable future for Aotearoa.

This year the Turua School Young Leaders Award goes to Oliana.  Oliana is a student who leads others  quietly by modelling appropriate values and behaviours at our school.  Oliana chooses to make good choices and help others even when no one is looking.  Well done Oliana!  We are  very proud of you.

RURAL WOMEN NEW ZEALAND
