Kia ora katoa
Welcome back to our final term for 2019. I hope everyone managed to have a great break despite the extreme weather we have been having. Lets hope we have a lovely day on Tuesday for Calf Club!
TEACHER ONLY DAY
A reminder that Turua School is having a Teacher Only Day on Tuesday 29th October for our teachers to strengthen their understanding of the use of assessment tools for learning and teaching. This is the day after Labour Day and school will resume as normal on Wednesday 30th October.
BIBLE IN SCHOOLS
There has been much debate around New Zealand of the place Bible in Schools has in our schools. The Board of Trustees is reviewing our local curriculum and are seeking your views on its inclusion for 2020. A paper copy of the survey has been distributed to students today or please click on the link below to provide us with your feedback.

MORE ————-REALLY IMPORTANT CALF CLUB STUFF
Monday Night at 6 pm is set up of the rings – so if you’re at a loose end come down to the school.
We are still after some ring stewards for the day. this is a job helping the judges and children prepare themselves as they come into the ring. No experience required.
Don’t forget to bring supplies for the day for your animal. Remember shade too, an umbrella is good.
Finally enjoy the day and don’t forget to bring your wallet. We have a great BBQ and awesome raffles.
GROUP DAY THIS YEAR IS 30TH OCTOBER AT NGATEA SCHOOL.
If you have any Group Day Trophies please return these to Ngatea School ASAP. Thanks
HATS
In Term 4 (if it ever stops raining) your children will be expected to wear a school hat when outside. These are blue bucket hats and are available from the office for $15.00 (we charge what we pay for them). If you wish to source your own hat that is fine but it must be navy blue and cover the ears and back of the neck – so NO CAPS! Please make sure they are clearly named
TELEVISIONS
Last term we sent out a request for a TV if anyone had one. We were really lucky and have had two sets donated. Many thanks to Shirley Brown and Robyn Sorenson for their kind donations. The TV’s will be a great asset to the staff and students.
We are still on the look out for more T.V.’s so if you have one please let us know.
STUDENT INFORMATION
Do we have your current information. If you have changed addresses, phone numbers, or any details pertaining to your child and haven’t let us know then please do. We need to have current information in case of emergencies.
