Kia ora koutou,
Well done to all our students yesterday competing in Athletics events. You were awesome!!! I am certainly sure that changing the timing of the event was much appreciated by everyone as it was still extremely hot! A big thank you to Miss Hayley who organised our day and was so flexible in ensuring that it was such a great success. Information has been sent home today for those students selected to represent Turua at the Hauraki Plains event on Wednesday. Please note that there is entry criteria for age group events that children must meet before they can enter. Gaining a placing does not necessarily ensure selection.

A big thank you to the Arsilan family who raised a calf for our school and donated the proceeds from the sale. $500!!!!!
The Bible in School Surveys are still coming. It is still not too late to have your say and they can still be returned to the school office by email or hard copy.

SCHOOL LEAVERS
The end of the school year is always a little sad as we say goodbye and thank you to our school leavers who move on to the start of their secondary education. Many have started in the junior classes and it has been our pleasure to watch them grow and mature into the positive role models they have become. Each week we will publish some of their reflections of their time at Turua.

My time at Turua School has been an amazing journey going on trips and amazing camps every year! I have amazing teachers and an amazing principal to help me through my journey here. I started as a year one and I remember walking into room 3.( I feel like it was yesterday) Going from year 1 to year 8 has been incredible and school has been my favorite place to go.
When I went to my first camp in Taupo we did lots of things like the Buma trail and high and low ropes
My next camp was Rotorua where we did rock climbing, archery and lots more. I earn going on these amazing trips because of my jobs like kea crossing, deputy librarian and head librarian and doing a lot of things like being leaders for tabloids.
My first school trip was the Tip-Top factory where we got to see how the ice cream was made. It was fun! I have made friends and teachers have taught me to be the best I can be and how I can be the best and a great leader in the future. I have been awarded lots of great awards like the Sir Peter Blake and End of Year trophies etc.
I have had a great time at Turua School and I will never forget how much I have seen, I have done and I have conquered.

When I first came to Turua School as a year 2 I had Mrs Belton as my teacher. She was amazing with all the fun things that we did and learned. I can remember the day that I started this school, it feels like I just started yesterday.
The 7 years at Turua have been a great journey for me. I loved all the creative things that I did. I loved all the artwork that I did for calf club to decorate our classroom.
As a year 8 looking back at all the different ages at Turua School it takes me back thinking about when I was all those ages and they were good memories.
What I loved about this school is that with all the great teachers I’ve really loved communicating with the them and it was great . (Especially Miss Hayley! She was a great teacher) I learned a lot of things back when I was a year six and now it’s even better. I’ve really enjoyed Turua School a lot.
