Kia ora koutou,
Our senior room are currently on camp at Lakewood Lodge and I am sure they are having an amazing time. The weather is exceptionally hot at present and although we have drinking fountains around the school it is still a good idea for students to bring a water bottle. A reminder that it is best to fill with water rather than any sugary drinks.
STAFFING 2020
We have confirmed our staffing for 2020 with the appointment of Teagan Pennell in a fixed term position for 2020. Teagan is excited to begin her teaching career at Turua and will be supported by both Amy Rakich and Hayley Fenton. We have also appointed Kerie Richardson into the Learning Support coordinator role which is based at Turua School. The Learning Support Coordinator role is a new role funded by the government to work alongside teachers, and with specialist providers and parents to ensure children and young people receive the support they need to learn. Kerie will cover Turua, Kerepehi, Waitakaruru and Kopuarahi Schools. Kerie is very experienced in this area of education and we are thrilled to have her join our team. Moving into the area Kerie will need to find closer accommodation. If anyone knows of a house to rent in our area we would appreciate you contacting the school office.

KAITLIN

As the sports leader I try a lot more sports and most of the time I get through to the next level of that sport event.
One thing that I have learnt from Turua School is to show my best always.
When I get to high school I know to show my best always and try to succeed in what I do.
The two parts of high school that I am not looking forward to are the math because it looks way harder than the stuff we are learning now and wearing the uniform because I do not like skirts!
