A big thank you to our local branch of the Rural Women NZ who treated the teachers with an amazing afternoon tea for all their hard work during the COVID 19 Lockdown.  It was delicious!

The school needs to be informed by a parent/caregiver if your child is going to have a change to their usual going home or being picked up routine.  Thank you to all those parents who regularly do so as the end of the school day can be a very hectic time!

It is up to Parents/Caregivers to inform the school of changes via phone call, email or a note for your child to hand in.

We also need to know if someone else is going to collect them. i.e. aunty, cousin, another child’s mum etc, as we may not know these people on sight and without your permission we cannot allow your child to leave the grounds with someone who is not listed on their enrollment as a person who can collect your child.  If you are not sure, please contact the School Office to check as your routines do change over time.

These steps are in place to safe guard your children.  We greatly appreciate your cooperation.

Bridal Veil Falls – A piece of persuasive writing by Ivy.

Also known as the Waireinga Falls, is an extraordinary place. It’s a beautiful ten minute walk with a stunning view overlooking the amazing white water. It’s named after the way it tumbles down the rocky cliff like a bridal veil. Watch how the graceful white water cascades down over the smooth rocky ledge. The beautifully green bush and native plant scenery will make you so relaxed. The misty summers air mingles with the spray against your face. The birds are singing a peaceful melody. The magnificent native bush brushing your legs.

This is a must see!

Winter has certainly arrived at Turua and so has the mud!  Our students are active at break times which is fantastic but this does often result in muddy clothes.  We recommend parents include a change of clothes with a plastic bag in school backpacks so that we don’t have to ring for clean clothing.

Thank you to everyone that brought books from the book fair. We sold $1799 worth of books, with the 30% of the book value sold we have now got $550 and $100 extra donation from Scholastic to spend on new books for our library. A big thank you to the wonderful families who donated books. Last of all a great big thank you to Mrs Gillingham for all her time and the students who gave up afternoon tea to help.

Please return these to the school office as soon as possible, the cost of replacing the  unreturned  books will be invoiced to accounts if not received by the end of the month.  Pool keys change yearly so if you have not returned your key it will not be able to be used to access the pool in the next swimming season.
