IN SCHOOL MUSIC LESSONS
If you are interested in enrolling your child in music lessons this year please contact Noah at email@example.com
We still have a few students who have not purchased stationery for 2021. Please ensure your child has all the items on the list, including ICT subscriptions and felt pen contribution. All children in Rooms 4, 6,7 and 8 have items on their lists that are available from the office.
If you are having difficulty purchasing the stationery your child needs please come and speak to Maree in the office.
SPARE CLOTHING AND HATS
Can we please ask that a spare set of clothing is in your child’s bag. Within a normal school day there can be swimming, gardening, cooking, sport and other activities which may render a change of clothes necessary.
Can you also please make sure your child’s hat covers their ears, neck and shades their face properly. (Caps are not acceptable).
BIBLE IN SCHOOLS
Bible in Schools will start next month on Wednesdays from 9.00 – 9.30 am. There is no obligation for your child to attend but we do require notification from parents if your child will not be attending. Bible in Schools in non denominational and if you are unsure about this programme please feel free to call into school and discuss with us.
Those children not attending will work with teachers and teacher aides on the NZ Curriculum values.
Students will be encouraged to value:
- excellence, by aiming high and by persevering in the face of difficulties
- innovation, inquiry, and curiosity, by thinking critically, creatively, and reflectively
- diversity, as found in our different cultures, languages, and heritages
- equity, through fairness and social justice
- community and participation for the common good
- ecological sustainability, which includes care for the environment
- integrity, which involves being honest, responsible, and accountable and acting ethically and to respect themselves, others, and human rights.
GARDEN TO TABLE
This week our Garden to Table Programme had its first session in our two senior classes. The Garden was buzzing and the kitchen was busy with students getting their knife license (demonstrating how to use a chef’s knife safely) and making delicious vege fritters and tomato salsa from our school garden. Try the recipe at home with your tamariki! (kids were lining up for seconds!)
