A huge thank you to everyone who supported our Book Fair. We sold $2566.00 worth of books which has enabled us to purchase new books for the Library to the value of $769.80. WOW!
Also thank you to all the parents and grandparents who came along to Grandparents Day on Friday 4th June and sat in the cold and fog and watched our wonderful students strut their stuff in the character parade. The effort that went into the costumes was incredible and it made judging extremely hard.
The winners were:
Te ika iti: Loxie
Patiki: Valerie and Ashton
Te Wheke: Sam M
Mangopare: Tove and Hazel
Also many thanks to the Garden to Table group who provided morning tea for the visitors. Everyone raved over the Pumpkin Loaf so attached is a link with the recipe.

Turua School had their annual Character Parade, Grandparents Day and Book Fair on Friday 4th June 2021. There were tons of amazing costumes and cool books to buy. From the kids perspective who dressed up we thought it was an awesome experience getting to walk around and show off our costumes to everyone. The grandparents really enjoyed their day getting to see the artwork, gardens and costumes along with spending time in classrooms. We are very grateful to all the whānau for coming to watch us, helping us make our costumes. A huge thanks to all those who purchased books along with those who donated books to our library.
And a very special thank you to our wonderful Librarians, Mrs Gillingham and Mrs Benny for all the hours put into the organisation and running of our Book Week.
We are so lucky to have you!
