Click this link to see some things you can do for your Māori Language Moment. It could be as easy as greeting everyone you see with ‘kia ora’, starting your Zoom call with “mōrena”, or playing te reo Māori songs in your home/workplace. How you do it is up to you, but you can get started with some ideas linked here!
It was wonderful to see the smiling faces of all the children who came back to school during level 2 last week. We enjoyed watching the students reconnecting with their friends, laughing and playing together. While Covid is obviously a time of challenge and stress for many, it has also highlighted to us how important it is for children to engage with each other and how schools help facilitate this. Unfortunately, as mentioned in previous newsletters with the uncertainty of Alert levels and guidelines there are some changes to our planned events.
All cross country events have been cancelled.
The Hauraki Plains Speech Competition has been cancelled.
The Science Fair has been cancelled.
The Mangopare Camp has been cancelled
To replace these events teachers have planned some inclass alternatives which they will share via their classroom platform pages.
