You can send the order form sent home with your children earlier this term or contact Anikha (our garden co-ordinator) by email – anikha@turua.school.nz or text 0278238839. Plants are $3 each.  We’re looking forward to seeing some massive pumpkins in the gardens in Turua this summer!”

GARDEN TO TABLE

“This week out in the garden Mangōpare were learning how to plant tomatoes (perfect for all those summer salads!). They learned what nutrients to put in the soil, how and why to pinch off laterals, and how to stake tomatoes so they grow straight and tall. Kaitaki were busy preparing a new and improved senior leaders garden next to the hall. In the kitchen students made a broccoli, leek and feta quiche which went down so well that kids were asking for seconds and the recipe! Try it at home!”
