In Mangōpare:

  • We are a Bully-free classroom, we are kind and we help each other.
  • We respect our teachers and classmates.
  • We work together as a team- Mahitahi.
  • We are creative and funny and make great art.
  • We listen to others and we manage ourselves.
  • We are not too loud, we are quiet while we work.
  • We are tidy and we look after our own things and other people’s things.
  • We follow school rules and try our best always.
  • We are on task and we follow instructions.

Mangōpare is an awesome, fun, special, caring, cool place with intelligent kids and great teachers.

Our class uses Seesaw for communication and sharing student learning. Please download the app and email Ms. Butterfield for an invite!

In Mangōpare we love reading and want to be life-long readers. Our library day is on Monday and there is a limit of two books. All library books need to be returned to the library or renewed each week so that more books can be issued.

In Mangōpare our expectation is that every night we read for at least 15 minutes (curl up with a book!), we practice our weekly spelling words and we practice our set of basic facts (both in our homework notebook).  Parents can help by testing us or talking about the books we are reading.

This term we have swimming lessons every day.  We need to bring our togs, towel and wet-bag with us every day and if we are unwell we bring a note from our caregivers to the teacher.

At Turua School we are sunsmart by wearing a wide brimmed or bucket hat (any colour) every day during terms 1 and 4. The students without  hats are rehatquired to play in the shaded lunch eating area.  Please remember to apply sunscreen before coming to school. There is a small amount of sunscreen available in the classroom for those that forget to Slip! Slop! Slap!

Dont forget to label hats preferably on the body of the hat as well as the tag.
